Tắc rửa sạch, bỏ lá, cành rồi bổ đôi, vắt lấy nước cốt, bỏ hạt. Phần vỏ tắc thái nhỏ. Cho vỏ và nước cốt tắc ở trên ướp cùng 3-4 muỗng cà phê đường và 1/3 muỗng cà phê muối, để khoảng 1 tiếng đồng hồ cho đường tan hết và vỏ tắc ngấm đường.

Cho hỗn hợp tắc, đường ở trên vào nồi đun nhỏ lửa đến khi hỗn hợp hơi sệt, vỏ tắc chuyển màu vàng óng. Tắt bếp, để nguội, cho vào tủ lạnh, khi uống lấy ra pha nước.
Khi uống, cho nước dừa ra ly, thêm cơm dừa, 1-2 thìa siro tắc ở trên khuấy đều, có thể thêm đá nếu muốn.
